“Variability is the law of life, and as no two faces are the same, so no two bodies are alike, and no two individuals react alike and behave alike under the abnormal conditions which we know as disease.” – Sir William Osler (1849-1919)
Overview
The PEGASUS multidisciplinary team is composed of anesthesiologists, surgeons, intensivists, internists, biostaticians and statistical geneticists. The group uses genetic variability to identify patients at high risk for adverse outcomes after surgery, enhancing physician ability to intervene with the most appropriate therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
